Founded in 1979 the P&DRA is first and foremost a classic car club with good social activities, members having a common aim of preserving Rover vehicles. The Range of vehicles belonging to the membership covers every class of Rover from the P1 to the 800, not forgetting the Range and Land-Rovers. We also welcome classic cars of any marque. It is a fully independent association with no connection with any National Rover Club,

We have a get-together lunch outing one Sunday each month, from October to April. These gatherings take place at various hostelries throughout our area, with recommendations from members which then encourages us to visit venues a little closer to our friends who live further afield than Pendle.

The P&DRA also arranges events throughout the year. One of which is the annual Vintage and Classic Car Show, normally held at Towneley Park, Burnley. For many years about 300 entries have been received covering a wide range of vehicles i.e. Austin, Morris, M.G. Triumph, Jowett, Ford, to name but a few, together with Motor-Bikes and, of course, all classes of Rover cars. Each section has its own ‘Best Car’ award and there is also a ‘Best car in Show’ award. The show attracts over 5,000 visitors annually, (weather permitting).

Although the Association is based in Lancashire the ‘district’ in the name covers a very wide spectrum and membership takes in members from all over the UK-and not forgetting Holland and others. The Association can give technical advice on most of the Rover range should members have any queries, also we can usually assist in getting that elusive ‘spare part’ by putting you in touch with the right people.

The membership fee of £7.50 (£8.00 for joint membership) Payable on January 1st. entitles you to receive four newsletters a year, incorporating topical articles by members, forthcoming events, items for sale and general news.
